Bikaner has railway connectivity with major Indian towns. Tourists can reach Bikaner by boarding trains from Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, Agra and Chandigarh. One can also reach Bikaner by road from Delhi. The Highways via Jaipur or Shekhavati are in very good conditions. However, the country-side roads in the Shekawati area can be a little dampner. The roads leading from Jaipur Jaisalmer and Jodhpur are in very good conditions. The nearest Airport to Bikaner is Jodhpur which is well connected by road and rail. However, Jaipur has more options in terms of flight frequency and choices of airlines. It may also be cheaper due to availability of low-cost airlines plying on the Jaipur route.

This magnificent palace was designed by a famous British architect. Lalgarh is another fort where some of the former Rajputana family used to stay.
Karni Mata temple situated at Deshnok village is 32 kilometres away from Bikaner. This temple is devoted to a local deity, "Karni Mata" who is considered an incarnation of Goddess Durga. This temple is the home to thousands of rats whom the locals believe to be holy. Shivbari Temple is a centuries old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Thousands of devotees visit this temple every year.
Food loving people must visit Bhujia Bazaar. Bikaner has a market named after famous Bikaneri Bhujia. Here Kachoris, Samosas at Chai Patti are to be relished.
